Microformats in PostNuke

Résumé :

It is the first time in internet history that browsers almost work perfectly as they are supposed to. In the early years the W3C issued specifications that neither Microsoft nor Netscape cared much about and preferred to introduce their own solutions like the font or the table tag. Today all browsers are much on the same level and they support XHTML 1.1, HTML 4.01 and most of CSS2 in a way that you can build normal websites without too much thinking about compatibility. This situation is not only due to reasonable browser companies but also due to the fact that the W3C hasn't been very productive in the last few years. Their last big production was the "Last Call" of WCAG 2 - and it was widely rejected. Now we see the start of several bottom-up initiatives: The WHATWG plans several specifications for a move from HTML as a mere formatting language towards a more sophisticated application language. And we have the Microformats community that extends the possibilities of classic XHTML with semantic meta data.
